HOME MADE MEXICAN SAUCE

This home made Mexican sauce will leave you wanting more after every single bite. Low in calories it is one that doesn't need to be avoided.

Ingredients 

  • 1 kg (2.2 pounds) Vine tomatoes
  • 1 bunch of Coriander
  • 3-4  Jalapeños (mild but you can add more if you want more spicy sauce)
  • 1/4 Onion
  • 2 cloves of Garlic
  • Salt to taste
  • Needed Grill-pan
  • Molcajete (large mortar)

Delicious with lean meat, chicken and fish

Directions

  1. Cut the tomatoes in 3 pieces and take out the heart. 
  2. Heat up a grill pan. Grill the jalapeños and tomatoes each side for 3-4 minutes. 
  3. Grab a mortar.
    Put some salt in the mortar, add the garlic and crush it fine. 
  4. Then add the jalapeños and crush them fine too. 
  5. Finally add the coriander and crush it too. Now you have a wonderfully smelling green paste. 
  6. Then add the tomatoes and crush them coarse or fine, ast you like. 
  7. Store the salsa in the fridge.
